This is the ongoing project with the objective to undertake a baseline assessment by gathering information on solid waste collection and cleaning services in the Dar es Salaam region within 41 urban wards. This information is gathered to help identify gaps and weaknesses in the services and is used by the World Bank and other practitioners to identify strategic options for improvements that will inform their advice to local governments. This was done using open-source apps like ODK, QGIS, and the community mapping approach.
